The first step in preparing for an interview – gathering information about the company in which you are going for an interview.
Useful information can be obtained in different ways. The most affordable – familiarity with the company’s site on the Internet. Perhaps some of your questions can answer a consultant recruitment company to which you have applied.
What is desirable to know about a company in which you go on an interview:
- what products or any services offers the company;
- who is the direct consumer of the products or services of the company;
- What is the history of creation of the company, its goals, objectives and corporate culture;
- does the organization have regional significance;
- who its main competitors;
- does the company enters into any larger union
- what is the press review about the organization
- What are the prospects for the sector to which it belongs.
The second thing that needs to be done in preparation for the interview – is to conduct self-examination and think about the answers to questions you might be asked during the interview. Some questions may be of a purely practical nature, others – aim to assess your motivation, determine the range of your interests, check out the professional competence, awareness of the company and the industry, the ability to quickly find the right solutions.
Before the interview, think about how you’re dressed. Appearance and demeanor are very important and are often determined by the first impression. We need to look neat and tidy.
Beforehand, make sure that you know how to get to the company building. Leave the house early, come 15 minutes before the appointed time. This way you show that you respect the interviewer and appreciate his time. If you are still going to be late, try to call and warn about the delay. Do not forget to take with you to the interview letters and a list of referees, if you have.
Remember that when choosing from several candidates with the same qualifications, a crucial role plays your ability to make a good impression during the interview.
